The premiere of the musical “La Paz” by Aristophanes was a success. On June 13 and 15, at Majadahonda’s municipal auditorium, “Alfredo Kraus”, this Greek classic was performed in a stage version by Hitos Hurtado and original songs and music by yours truly, Gonzalo Gª Santos.
The text takes as a starting point the version of Francisco Nieva which has been taken to a different level and updated by the author of the text.
The songs are composed in different styles depending on the character of the characters and the dramatic moment. With different influences, Danny Elfman, Wagner, Mussorgsky; zarzuela and cabaret. The lyrics put in the mouths of the characters biting criticisms of a timeless society, which may well be the fourth century BC or this that we live.
Here you can see and listen to some songs of the work.
